The butterflies come with installation instructions and the neccessary tools to make it easier to install and be very secure. They can go indoors or out and attach to trees, fences, concrete walls, literally anything.

The mounting system for the 250mm wide butterflies and moths is attached to the wall with one screw. It points the butterfly out from the wall on an angle so as to create a 3D shadow effect. The mounting system for the larger butterflies and moths has two screws but a similar angle is created.
